This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic team in Central New Zealand as an Engineering Fabricator. You will be an experienced professional, almost certainly trade certified in one or more relevant skills. Supporting the marine engineering team, you will be able to devise and design timely solutions to the many and varied challenges they face on a wide range of commercial and leisure vessels.
The role will take into account the entire fabrication cycle from:

initial concept >
design sketches (potentially leading to the use of a CAD tool) and preliminary and detailed measurements >
templates >
bending and forming all manner of materials and extrusions/sheet metal, but especially stainless steel and aluminium >
welding/assembly >
final fitting >
finishing and polishing to a high standard >
installation
This 'end-to-end' focus should be a source of real job satisfaction to someone who likes to see a good job done right first time.
Of equal importance to your hands-on talent will be your ability to work with customers and their representatives in a polite, focused and responsive fashion as your devise and implement their solution. You will therefore be well-presented and an able communicator, so that you can elicit all the information you need and then present it back to win client approval.
