Job Title: Heavy Duty Diesel Fitter/Mobile Plant Fitter
Description
General:
1. Trade qualified Heavy Equipment Mobile Fitter/Diesel Fitter
2. Range of heavy equipment used in the mining, construction, forestry, agricultural, materials handling and government sectors.
3. Other associated products include blasthole drills, underground mining equipment
4. Breakdown repairs, preventative maintenance and servicing of a range of equipment.
5. Previous heavy equipment experience (CAT, Komatsu, Hitachi etc.) would be an advantage
Specific tasks:
1. Apply Quality systems
2. Organise and Analyse information
3. Measure with graduated devices
4. Plan a complete activity
5. Perform computations
6. Perform computer operations
7. Perform brazing and/or silver soldering
8. Manual heating and thermal cutting
9. Perform routine manual metal arc welding
10. Perform routine gas metal arc welding
11. Draw and interpret sketch
12. Operate mobile load shifting equipment
13. Use hand tools
14. Use power tools/hand held operations
15. Use tool for precision work
16. Maintain and repair engine cooling systems
17. Test compression ignition fuel systems
18. Tune Diesel engine
19. Diagnose and repair low voltage electrical systems
20. Maintain and repair induction/exhaust systems
21. Perform engine bottom-end overhaul
22. Diagnose and repair braking systems
23. Maintain and repair suspension systems
24. Diagnose and repair automatic transmissions
25. Diagnose and repair drive line and final drives
26. Diagnose and repair electronic controlling systems on mobile plant
27. Maintain and repair fluid power systems for mobile plant
28. Dismantle, replace and assemble engineering components
