This hospital is located along the East Coast of the South Island of New Zealand.

The Paediatric Department provides inpatient and outpatient medical care for children the entire District Health Board region.
Paediatric registrars also work in the Neonatal Service at the Women's Hospital and this involves level 111 and level 11 neonatal care, as well as tertiary neonatal surgery. The Paediatric Service is the tertiary centre for Paediatric Oncology for the South Island.
Teaching and research are integral parts of the Department's activities.
This hospital requires a Paediatric Registrar to start in Mid 2010 for 12 months.
